With 54% of the runners who applied in 2015 receiving a start number, Chicago offers the best odds from all of the majors!
Time Qualifier
If you are very fast (qualifying times starting at 3:03 for men, 3:35 for women and 3:35 for non-binary), you can secure your spot this ways. For 2024, the qualifying window is from Jan 1, 2022 to Nov. 17, 2024 in any certified course by the USATF, World Athletics or similar governing association.
Legacy Finisher
If you have finished the Bank of America Chicago Marathon five or more times from 2013 and 2023 you can guarantee your spot in the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon as a legacy finisher.
Bank of America Chicago Distance Series
If you completed all three 2023 Bank of America Chicago Distance Series events (Shamrock Shuffle, Chicago 13.1 and Chicago Marathon) in person, you can guarantee your spot in the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
American Development Program
If you're an elite runner focused on half marathons, this might be a better option for you. You can qualify with half marathons times of sub 1:11 for men or 1:20 for women and non-binary.
Para Athletics Program
If suffer from Impaired muscle power, impaired range of passive movement, limb deficiency, short stature, hypertonia, ataxia, athetosis, vision impairment or intellectual impairment, you may get into the chicago marathon under special conditions. Please check the official website for all the details
