How to get in
The draw
Berlin offers the best odds to run via the ballot, with about 16% chances to get a place. There is only one ballot, regarless of whether you live in Berlin, in Germany, Europe or overseas. The ballot for next year opens shortly after the event of the current year, at around October. The results are quickly available just a couple weeks afterwards.
QUALIFYING TIME
If you are fast enough, you can secure your spot by qualifying on any official marathon. With completion times as low as 02:45 for men and 03:00 for women, you need to be semi-elite to qualify
Tour operators
Secure your spot by booking your hotel (and eventually flights and other things) via a tour operator. Thankfully, berloin has the cheapest travel packages of the majors, starting from only 229€ + 190€ start place. We will soon include all details here!
Charity
If you didn't get lucky with the ballot and you still haven't reched a qualifying time but you want to run, you can team up with a charity to get a place. You commit to a minimum amount of fundrasing (for Berlin, usually at least 1.000€) to get a guaranteed start place.
